I chose to play with the figure of Venus and reinterpret four paintings found in Florence. To give an update ‘we are not your Venus, we are already beyond’.
Each work is designed for me, with my own intuition. Using strong and complementary colours. Paper and thread in my hands.

Idolo in Spanish is a word that has only one gender, the masculine. That's why I chose to play with the term and use it in feminine “idolas”.
This project was born in 2018 with the idea of telling the story of extraordinary women that we usually don't know. I chose to start from a photograph and intervene it with hand embroidery to then tell the story.
This project came out of my hands, through social media, was exposed, became a radio column and became a podcast.
For me these women are an inspiration and a reminder that even when history insists on forgetting us, we are here doing incredible things.

This serie is based on the idea that there is a mysterious and powerful energy within the body that produces a movement from the inside out, that is, an energy that seeks to be externalised. This is vital energy.
